“300” or how the Spartan army fought against thousands of Persians…

In this adaptation of Frank Miller’s acclaimed graphic novel, directed by Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead), Gerard Butler (“The Phantom of the Opera”) stars as Leonidas, king of Sparta. In 481 B.C., Persian King Xerxes invaded Greece with a massive and seemingly invincible army of warriors. But once they reached the pass of Thermopylae in 480 B.C., they came upon King Leonidas with a determined group of 300 Spartan men, who engaged the Persian army for three days in a battle of epic proportions. The film will be shot in much the same manner as Miller’s “Sin City”, making extensive use of computer-generated imagery.

My advice:
I really liked “Sin City” and it seems much more violent, epic, and beautiful than “Gladiator” which is for now, my best Roman-theme film. It comes out on March 9th 2007. And hope it will be as good as the two trailers available.
