“Will and Won’t” play in Half Blood Prince

CBBC Newsround reported today that actress Helen McCrory has been cast as Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film. Helen was originally cast as Bellatrix Lestrange in the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, but had to pull out due to the fact that she had become pregnant during production (she was, of course, replaced by Helena Bonham Carter).

Chris Rankin is best known as playing Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter films will not reprise his role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but we are all hopeful he will return for the final instalment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

In an audio interview at the Scottish Style Awards, actress Katie Leung admitted in an audio interview, provided by Katie Leung Fan, that she would be returning to reprise her role as Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Katie is quoted at saying (about 5:30 into the interview), “I’ve got Harry Potter in January and I don’t start shooting ’til then.” Although this is not confirmed by Warner Bros., we can safely assume that Katie would not lie about this.

Newsround also reports that cast announcements for Lavender Brown and Tom Riddle will be released very soon.
